Surrendering An Animal
At Nature's Way Sanctuary we accept canines into our Pet Placement Assistance program to help owners to safely re-home their pet to an excellent forever home. Below you will find details of how animals are accepted into our Pet Placement Assistance program, information about the process, and the application to start the process . We do not euthanize pets for space, so we are limited on how many animals we can take in.
If you have any questions, please call us at 541-654-7783 to speak with someone on our intake team.
LOST OR FOUND PETS
If you have Lost or Found a Pet please call your local Animal Services, Veterinary Clinics, and file a report with Operation HALO.
Animals in Need:
We do accept puppies. For accidental litters, we will take them into our program for no cost, if the pet owner agrees to spay the mother through our low cost spay through the “Oops Program”. Begin the process by filling out the form below...
We accept owner surrenders on a case-by-case basis – preferably with proof that the dog is current on vaccinations, and is neutered/spayed. We also complete an evaluation to ensure he/she is adoptable to other individuals or families.
Steps for the Pet Placement Assistance Program
1. Complete our online Animal Surrender Pre-Screening Form below.
2. Our intake team will call, typically within 24hrs, after receiving the online form to schedule an intake assessment.
3. After passing the behavior evaluation, our intake team will schedule for your dog to be seen by our veterinarian for a physical exam.
4. We will schedule the physical surrender.
The total cost for surrender varies by case, and is on a sliding scale from $0-$150 for dogs, depending on the animal’s age and past veterinary care. Please note that the fees fund our operation. We do not receive any free Veterinarian time and we operate solely on donations.
